Writing this from my couch: Just got my wireless keyboard and mouse from komplett.no. Plugged it in, and it just works. The gyration powered mouse also has an optical feature, so it works both in mid-air and on a smooth surface. The mouse needed a 9 hour charge before I could use it.
Both just works (TM). I plugged in the USB dongle, hit the connect button on the dongle, and the one on the keyboard: It’s up and away. Next, when the mouse is charged, I again hit the dongle connect button, the connect button on the mouse. And it works too.
Multimedia buttons works out of the box, browser buttons does not, (in Firefox) but I haven’t tried anything to get them to work either. (I probably wouldn’t use them anyway)
The keyboard is tiny, and light, and does take some getting used to. The gyration function on the mouse is a little awkward at first, but I’m starting to get the hang on it.
Some tings I learned:
- It’s smart to adjust your mouse settings (System > Preferences > Mouse). Try with sensitivity at the lowest, and turn down acceleration just a tad.
- Double clicking the button underneath the mouse makes the gyro-functionality work allthe time (otherwise you have to hold the underneath button in all the time, and that gets a bit awkward)
In conclusion: Gyration GO 2.4 Compact Suite works out of the box on Ubuntu Feisty Fawn.
